When you love a person, you love them without conditions, <br />you leave your childishness at the door - you love them. <br />You learn to give of yourself and you learn you are not alone, <br />but it's hard to love - when your love is not your own. <br /> <br />You wear a smile as easy as a mask to cover the pain below, <br />turning from the one who you thought you loved once. <br />The heart demands another though the mind is torn between, <br />how can you love someone else - your heart becomes torn. <br /> <br />One half flutters and spins, living in the world you have, <br />bathing in the safety of comfort, never moving though screaming. <br />The other half drifts away to a place where you can be yourself, <br />no judgments nor demands - you cry over what might be. <br /> <br />One path or the other, the mind cannot choose either, <br />the heart shrieks and screams, but comes out as a whisper. <br />Both may love you, both may lie - <br />but one love is rushing forth; the other one dry.<br /><br />Brian Hinckley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/two-hearts-two-minds-two-loves/
